Furusato has been serving authentic Japanese cuisine to its long list of satisfied customers in Edmonton, Alberta for over 20 years.
Originally established by chef Yuji Oda, Furusato offers a extensive menu at reasonable prices, in its quaintly remodeled 50 seat restaurant located on Whyte Avenue.
History
The name Furusato in Japanese translation, means “”hometown”” and it is our mission to provide customers with a cozy ambience, as well as friendly knoweldgeable staff. While we are honored to welcome every new patron, we strive to address regular customers on a first-name basis!
In the summer of 2009, Yuji decided it was time to sell his business to two of his hardworking and skilled proteges; Maria and her son Dave who have worked at Furusato for the last 17 and 15 years respectively. During this period Yuji groomed both into the excellent Japanese chefs they are today.
